The company realized how important is a full uptime for a media company to keep the user tied up with the news websites.
In this environment, Express Newspapers faced a considerable challenge delivering online content to mobile devices and web platforms. The Express Newspapers required providing this service for low cost , while maintaining the full uptime.
After investigating several options, including a local co-location facility and content delivery network (CDN) providers, Express Newspapers selected Saberion to build a solution which can accommodate news content deliver, Video Streaming, Responsive content deliver which can support any type of device and more importantly a scalable and reliable hosting platform. Luckily, at the given point Saberion was already an AWS consulting partner and had the flexibility of using the AWS services and design a better solution for the company.
Saberion came up with a tool called Media Engine, which is a flexible and future-friendly content publishing platform that helps editors to manage and publish content into web and mobile platforms.
It uses Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) for resizable compute capacity and Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) storage volumes. Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) serves as database, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) provides a fully redundant infrastructure for storing and retrieving data, and Amazon Route 53 offers a highly available (DNS) web service.
The Express Newspapers is using Amazon CloudFront in front of several Amazon S3 buckets, API endpoints and Ec2 Instances to distribute a huge collection of Images, News Contents and Video Streaming. The combination Amazon Services is used to distribute Express Newspapers readers with low latency and high transfer speeds.
